I need to go exploring because I have the urge to find new things about countries and the all the famous people that had to do with those countries and I like to go around the world and meet new people and try new kinds of food. I like to learn all sorts of new things about art and the artist. I would want to accomplish these things in this time that I have to travel I would want to learn some facts behind those facts and so on. I would really love to learn about Christopher Columbus and what he did and I would not mind finding facts about how he got to the places he and when he left and what time he arrived.

Amerigo Vespucci 1498- After what Christopher Columbus concluded about the newly discovered land, I knew there wasn’t something right. I had the urge to see what was up with this discovery. I wanted more information about this land and I wanted to accomplish concluding there was more about it. So I traveled to this new land. Hopefully, from my hypothesis, I’ll discover new things and change my reputation.
I took three voyages over east. After my first and second, I got role of Spanish Chief of Navigation. On my third voyage I landed on the same land that Christopher landed on. It turned out to be a totally different piece of land. Let’s just say I was the first person to demonstrate that the New World discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492 was not the eastern appendage of Asia, but rather a previously-unknown "fourth" continent.
Dear King Ferdinand,
I do believe you know I am traveling three voyages over east. As you well know this is where Christopher Columbus has traveled in search of a water route and instead, he found what he called the Eastern Appendage of Asia. I know there is more to this newly discovered land. So I have decided to explore this new world, in search of more new and excited things. As I write this letter to you, I wish for you to supply me with a sponsor to help me succeed with this long trip.
Do not fear for I will not disobey you. My honor of your authority is greatly and your trust for me shall stay strong. Amerigo Vespucci 1502- I am to report that I have concluded Columbus’s finding wrong. This land was entirely new and they decided to name these new continents North and South America (after me). I knew this voyage was going to be worth it. This trip was very important because it changed my reputation, as well as my respect, and my king is extremely pleased with my discovery. As well as this being a newly discovered continent, it changed everyone’s perspective on this new land and more and more people are going to want to explore this new land to find more discoveries.
Also this new land gives us the opportunity to find new fur and goods that we may need when the days out. We may even find new species of animals and plants that might help us with newly medicines we haven’t discovered yet. Who knows what finding a new continent might bring. It could bring wars over the country or maybe an agreement to share the land. The Americas could bring jealousy and envy, probably causing people to become violent, or it could cause the world to be happy we have new land. Either way, discovering a whole new continent brought us thousands of opportunities for thousands of possibilities.
We hope to find a new places and resources in the new world... In the new areas of the western continent are new territories to take over and bring power to our land. We hope to achieve more power. And to get more people to support our way of life. We hope to get power in general. In this process we want to get more goods and more land.
We also want to find gold and new items of trade. And to bring our beliefs to them. If we can convert them to our religion we might be able to have them support our cause. And if we can bring them to our religion we might not have to fight with them if they will support our king. We hope to get more supplies for us to use.
Dear King,
I’m writing to let you know that we hope to bring power of our country to this land for you! This will be a big job and I have few men in my command. I am writing to ask if you will support my journey to the new lands by giving us money for supplies and weapons. If you will do so I will proclaim the new land for you in a better way than anybody else! And if you support us we will bring their gold and riches to you in person, to your castle in Spain... this new territory will be a big addition to Spain’s land.
Please your majesty please I ask with all the life I have in me if you will support our cause!? I promise that when we return that you will have new land to call your own! It will also bring more gold and goods that we want to take over from the land on the western continent. If we have conflict we will need more troops from you to help us fight off the people of the continent.
After our journey we got a lot of gold and precious items. We also found an area of unknown land. We got large portions of main land from the new land. We also got new people to be of our religion. If we had any more fights we might have not made it out of this new land alive.
We hope that this will be a new beginning of explorations of our lands. It has been a long journey and we failed a lot but accomplished even more. These discoveries were a major part of our people and we got a new beginning of new land that no one has taken. We may have lost a lot of men but we gained a lot more for their sacrifices. It has been a good journey over all!

When I grow up I want to be one of the first people to travel around the world. I want to go and find spices in Asia and find different routes to get to different places. I want to lead a group of people; I want them to follow me when I travel. I want to be the one who everyone looks back on and thinks I am a hero. I want to travel around the world in a boat. I want to sail to India with the Fleet of Francisco de Almeida, and be the first to do so. I also want to explore the oceans that I pass through and see different things I come across. I want to become famous and make lots of money.

We filled the ships up with spices and set off to go back home. The ships deiced to go spate ways. One of the ships didn’t make it. And the other ship was forces to sail back to Spice Islands. Then they sailed back to Spain. Only a few remained as the others died of starvation and thurst!

3. I found 80 lb (36 kg) of gold, a golden crucifix, jewels, 13 chests full of royals of plate and 26 tons of silver. This particular catch had far reaching consequences because the Spanish ship, having been intercepted sailing due west in the Pacific, exposed to the whole world in early 1580 that the Spanish were active in the Far East, a concession which had been awarded to the Portuguese by the Pope at Rome. This crisis forced Philip II of Spain to invade Portugal in 1580 to claim the Portuguese crown. The reason this is important is because if I wouldn’t have found it some one else would and they would try to either ruin what was already there or try to find it somewhere else and that could have messed up the area around it and also the people or animals living there.

It’s been so hard for me to find work. After my expedition in 1505 it’s been tough on me and my family. After I was accused of trading illegally, no one wants to give me work. I feel like there’s no other choice but to set sail. After Christopher Columbus made a journey to the Spice Islands it made us all realize that America is not a part of Asia. My goal is to go as far as Christopher Columbus did. Maybe even find land to name our own.

I have a proposal that I think you would very much appreciate. It could benefit you and your people. We could gain alliances with other countries, new spices, foods and maybe even some gold. We can spread the word of God, in which he would appreciate. I feel like it’s in our countries best interests for me and my men to make this journey. I already have five ships and 270 men ready to make this journey. So all I ask is for your permission and to help aid our supplies.

My journey
In August of 1519 five ships set sail from Portugal under my command. The names of these ships are Trinidad, San Antonio, Concepcion, Victoria and Santiago. We traveled down the Guadalquivir River we were headed to Sanlucar de Barrameda where we camped out for 5 weeks. We set Sail in September with 270 brave men. We made our way through the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and now were on our way to St. Augustine in Brazil. By November we crossed the equator and into Brazil. It’s been a long journey but I know me and my men can do it. I didn’t want to stop in Brazil because I thought it would be best to just avoid it. I was afraid of what could happen since it wasn’t Portuguese territory. I didn’t want to take a risk of something bad happening to my men. I believed that if we just sailed along South Americas east coast it would lead us to the Spice Islands.
Time has gone by so quick we finally spotted land and even better its land that no one has claimed yet. We named it Puerto San Julian. And it will give us some time to rest and eat. We’re going to camp out here for a couple weeks and get to know the land. Maybe King Manuel wont be as angry if I tell him about this. But it didn’t stay peaceful for very long, just 3 days later an argument had broke out. We had betrayers on our journey! 3 people were left on the island, captains to two of our ships and our priest. But I pray that everybody else is remaining loyal. I feel like it’s for the best. I have to cut this short, we can’t travel with people we can not trust! I have to leave them here it’s for the best. We set sail again. Months had gone by and we have yet to find something to bring back to the king. All I have to show is un loyal crew members.
In September one of our ships had sunk but thankfully we saved everybody who was on it. We got lucky that no one died. I love it out here, this water is calm. It feels like Pacifico. Today I sent out 2 of my ships to check things out but only one returned. They felt like this was a waste of there time, like we wont find anything on our journey. I’m down to 150 men now. March 16 we reached the Philippines which is an accomplishment in Europe. I Magellan am the first European to come this far.
It’s been two months since I’ve written. We’ve become good friends with the King Rajah and his queen Juana. They’ve even accepted our religion Christianity. They weren’t good people for very long though. There is a war going on here and they convinced me to get involved in it. A man I wanted to convert I instead killed him. Just days later I had enemies, I did not want this. I didn’t come on this journey to kill people or possibly be killed. But I must stand up for myself. April 27th, 1521 I will gather my men and we will battle with them. I wish I would’ve known that it would come to this.

I want to go explore more because I didn’t get to make it all the way to Asia cause my ship’s sails weren’t cooperating right with the weather and I sent out for some help but I guess are signal was bad. So I want to finish my exploration to Asia. I want to get out for awhile cause my job is not a good paying one and they have me do all the work instead of four people helping me box up rotten fish.
Dear king john of Portugal will you please pay for our supplies and ships and also a crew that can make us to Asia so I can finish my journey to the china towns I heard they have the best foods and clothes and ill promise you if you can get us the money I will get you some of there food and clothes and on top of that ill bring interest. And ill give you my ship and ill share some more stories on how many times we ran into people that we knew from along time ago.
I’m not sure where I really am right now I think I’m in the eastern coast of Asia but my friends say I’m in the west hemisphere. My chest is pounding like crazy I don’t feel too well, and these aspen’s aren’t helping at all. I thought I would have found the entry to Asia but I didn’t. Dear Journal, Im looking for a now route to the Pacific ocean. I am gonna explore in between the regions of Florda and Newfoundland for a route. There I will land on cape fear. I will initially sailed south along the coast of south Carolina then turned north again. We did it we went on the journey I found New France, Quebec City, in Canada. this new land will be good for the king and all the people.
